As a reporter and editor, I’ve worked with premier newsrooms (digital, print and TV) largely in India and the United States.

I’ve been published in The AtlanticThe GuardianViceArticle 14, The National, Star Tribune, and Arab News. 

As News Editor, South Asia, at VICE, I worked closely with the Asia Pacific leadership to develop overarching content strategy and workflow. I also managed a team of editors and reporters across the region, guiding them on story ideas and coverage plans.

I’ve travelled India extensively, reporting on a variety of news stories related to elections, insurgency in central India, curbs on freedom of expression, life in No Man's land on the India-Bangladesh border, and misinformation on social media.

In 2019, I was in the US working at the Minneapolis Star Tribune and Sahan Journal as an Alfred Friendly fellow.

I won the UNFPA Laadli Media Award for Gender Sensitivity 2014 and was runner-up for the Lorenzo Natali Media Prize, 2015. I was part of the Thomson Reuters Foundation’s first cohort of global journalists to attend Reporting Slavery & Trafficking course in London, 2015.
